Thank You Kenna's Kids!

As most of you know, Charlie and the Greenman Family were at the Kenna Cup, a charity golf tournament hosted by Kenna's Kids to support children facing big medical challenges. This was the fifth annual Kenna Cup and it was a spectacular event!  Thank you to everyone who made this incredible weekend possible.

Even Charlie's older brother had a chance to take a few swings!

Here are the 2012 beneficiaries with Kenna, the red head in the center.  Kenna had the same type of Craniosynostosis as Charlie and required the same surgery. From left to right, Charlie and Sarah Greenman, Makenna Johnson, Kenna Kucholz and Grayson Hughes. If you'd like to keep up with Makenna, click HERE.  And if you'd like to keep up with Grayson, click HERE.  These are amazing children with beautiful souls and fighting spirits.

22 Month Update

Charlie is 22 months old! It's hard to believe that his 2-year birthday is right around the corner.  It's been a busy month for our little guy.  Here's the latest: Charlie spent the month of May with his therapists working on core strength, mid-line balance, object permanence games, sign language, and lots of fun fine motor stuff.  He is actively sitting unassisted for longer intervals, but is still struggling with gravity, that pesky phenomenon.

Charlie is only a couple of weeks away from the Kenna's Kids fundraiser - The Kenna Cup!  We are so excited for this spectacular event and hope that you are all signed up for the ball drop to take place on Saturday, June 22.  If not, click HERE for all the details.

We'll also be meeting with clinicians and doctors in July to have Charlie fitted for Orthotic leg braces, which will help align his posture and get him on his feet!  He'll also be meeting with his pediatrician for his two-year exam and physical assessment.  As it stands, Charlie is still very behind in speech and mobility, but that is to be expected. The exciting thing is that Charlie is testing at about an 18-20 month level for social interaction and engagement.

One of Charlie's favorite things to do is play with his brother, Walker.
Tickling always seems to evoke a smile from Charlie!

Charlie is also doing a quick round of aquatherapy while traveling with
his family for the month of June!  Here he is after a dip in the pool!

Of course, Charlie still loves to swing...

Here is a photo of Charlie with his service coordinator, Katherine.
Katherine has been a valuable addition to Charlie's team of therapists
and is actively finding ways to make life easier and more accessible for Charlie.

Charlie spends a lot of time on the floor in dynamic positions
which help him strengthen his core muscles.

And here is a video of Charlie sitting unassisted!
It's thrilling to see him self correct and stay upright for longer periods of time!

And of course, there is always time for a cat nap.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Charlie Greenman.
He's been doing very well this Spring and we're looking forward to a wonderful summer!

Yours,
Sarah Greenman
